  • National Crime Prevention Council - produces tools that communities can use to learn crime prevention strategies, engage community members, and coordinate with local agencies.
  • National Family Partnership - The mission of the National Family Partnership is nurturing parents to help children reach their full potential. The National Family Partnership works to accomplish its mission through parent training, parent networking and sponsoring the National Red Ribbon Campaign.
  • National Resource Center for Safe Schools: The Safety Zone - Program works with schools, communities, state and local education agencies, and other concerned individuals and agencies to create safe learning environments and prevent school violence.

  • Parents Anonymous - Support group for parents to support each other who are facing challenges as parents.  Has a program in English and another in Spanish.
  • Partnership for a Drug Free America - The Partnership for a Drug-Free America is a nonprofit organization that unites parents, renowned scientists and communications professionals to help families raise healthy children.
  • Positive Action - A K-5 curriculum that teaches students to use positive actions for their physical, intellectual, and emotional health.  In addition, the program offers a school climate component, a counseiling component and a strand fro parents.

Federal Government Sites

  • Office of Justice Programs (OJP) - OJP supports law enforcement, courts, corrections, treatment, victim services, technology, and prevention initiatives that strengthen the nation’s criminal justice system. OJP provides leadership, services, and funding to America’s communities.
  • National Institute on Drug Abuse - NIDA's mission is to lead the Nation in bringing the power of science to bear on drug abuse and addiction. NIDA conducts research and ensures the rapid and effective dissemination and use of the results of that research to significantly improve prevention, treatment and policy as it relates to drug abuse and addiction.
  • Office of Juvenile Justice & Deliquency Prevention - provides national leadership, coordination, and resources to prevent and respond to juvenile delinquency and victimization.
  • Office of National Drug Control Policy - establishes policies, priorities, and objectives for the Nation's drug control program. The goals of the program are to reduce illicit drug use, manufacturing, and trafficking, drug-related crime and violence, and drug-related health consequences.
  • Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools - Exemplary and promising safe, disciplined and drug-free schools programs.
  • Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration - NREPP - is a searchable database of interventions for the prevention and treatment of mental and substance use disorders.
  • The Coalition for Evidence Based Policy (Federal) - mission is to increase government effectiveness through rigorous evidence about what works.  The Coalition advocates many types of research to identify the most promising social interventions.
  • U.S. Department of Education - organization that promotes student achievement and preparation for global competitiveness by fostering educational excellence and ensuring equal access.
  • U.S. Department of Health and Human Services - agency for protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services, especially for those who are least able to help themselves.
  • U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration - enforces the controlled substances laws and regulations of the United States and to bring to the criminal and civil justice systems of the United States, and recommends and supports non-enforcement programs aimed at reducing the availability of and demand for illicit controlled substances on the domestic and international markets.

  • Center for Safe Schools - organiztion that focuses on prevention and intervention initiatives operated by schools, organizations and agencies serving children, youth and families. 
  • Community Behavioral Health Network - Insurance program for MH services in the community and at RTFs. 
  • Fight Crime, Invest in Kids PA - Invest in Kids Pennsylvania is a statewide, bipartisan, nonprofit, anti-crime organization comprised of more than 200 police chiefs, sheriffs, district attorneys, other law enforcement leaders and violence survivors.Invest in Kids evaluates crime prevention strategies, informs the public and policymakers about those findings, and urges investment in programs proven effective by research.  
  • International Institute for Restorative Practices - dedicated to the advanced education of professionals at the graduate level and to the research that can develop the growing field of restorative practices.
  • PA Crime Prevention Officers' Association - promotes the participation and cooperation of its citizens, businesses and governmental agencies, in proven and effective methods of crime prevention. 
  • PA Department of Education - to lead and serve the educational community to enable each individual to grow into an inspired, productive, fulfilled lifelong learner. 
  • PA Department of Health - promotes healthy lifestyles, prevent injury and disease, and assures the safe delivery of quality health care for all Commonwealth citizens. 
  • PA Department of Public Welfare - promote, improve and sustain the quality of family life; break the cycle of dependency; promote respect for employees; protect and serve Pennsylvania’s most vulnerable citizens; and manage our resources effectively. 
  • PA DUI Association - provides information, direction, training and support with the purpose of working toward the elimination of impaired drivers and the harm that they can cause. Through our efforts we create a healthier and safer environment for all people in the Commonwealth. 
  • PA Liqour Control Board - Promote and deliver a message of "zero tolerance" and "no use" of alcohol by individuals under 21.    Promote responsible and moderate use of alcohol for adults, age 21 and over, who choose to drink alcoholic beverages. Promote, train, and offer guidance in developing responsible alcohol beverage service and practices among licensees and persons that serve alcoholic beverages in Pennsylvania. 
  • Penn State Prevention Research Center - Research conducted in the Center examines how communities can work together with families, schools, community groups (social service, youth groups, the faith community), and industry to promote healthy lifestyles for children, youth, and families, and develops clinical trials of innovative models to promote competence and prevent maladaptive outcomes for children, families, and communities. 
  • Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General - The Attorney General's Office protects children from Internet predators, pursues con artists who target our seniors, targets drug trafficking and gun violence in our neighborhoods and fights fraud and scams that can be financially devastating to families. 
  • Pennsylvania Association of Student Assistance Professionals - association of school and community-based program specialists organized to meet the needs of Pennsylvania youth for education, prevention, intervention, referral, and support services in the area of at-risk behaviors affecting mental health and wellness, and to address alcohol and other drug related problems. 
  • Pennsylvania Commission on Crime & Deliquency - promotes a collaborative approach to enhance the quality of justice through guidance, leadership and resources by empowering citizens and communities and influencing state policy.

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters -  offers opportunities for professionally supported One-to-One® mentoring relationships with qualified volunteers. 
  • COBYS Family Services - Motivated by Christian faith, COBYS Family Services educates, supports, and empowers children and adults to reach their full potential.
  • Compass Mark - Formerly known as the Council on Drug & Alcohol Abuse. As Compass Mark, we continue our commitment to guide individuals and families on a journey toward lives free from substance abuse and full of promise.
  • DUI Council of Lancaster County - provides resources throughout Lancaster County that enhance awareness and promote the responsible use of alcohol through education, advocacy, and partnerships.
  • Elsie Shenk Prevention Program - serves children 3-17 years who are the children of outpatient clients at Elsie Shenk outpatient center. The prevention education groups discuss topics such as alcohol, tobacco and other drug education, what is addiction, stress, coping, decision making, and feelings.
  • Gaudenzia/Vantage/Elsie Shenk Outpatient - Gaudenzia helps people affected by chemical dependency, mental illness and related conditions to achieve a better quality of life-allowing them to live as productive and accountable individuals.
  • Center for Community Peacemaking (CCP) - Faith-based Restorative Justice ministry which leads voluntary face-to-face meetings between offenders and their victims.  This meeting provides the opportunity to talk about what happened (facts and feelings), what needs are to be met (restitution) and what should happen in the future (trust). 
  • Spanish American Civic Association - foster and facilitate the cultural, social, civic and economic development of the Latino Community of the City and County of Lancaster through the provision of human services, employment and training, and behavioral health services.
  • Student Health OUTreach (SHOUT) - invests in teens and adults working together to reduce teen pregnancy in Lancaster County by providing information, advocacy and comphrehensive education for youth on wellness and healthy relationships. 
  • YWCA of Lancaster - dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
